Carl Johnson
'65 Plymouth Belvedere II
This neat Belvedere was a 318ci Poly-motored car and with its Torqueflite trans, 3:23 gears, it ran a best of 17.3. But Carl set about upgrading to a 426ci Street Wedge, equipped with 10:1 compression, Edelbrock Performer RPM cam, Edelbrock Performer intake, Holley 750 cfm carb, big valve 906 heads, Blackjack headers, electronic ignition, Torqueflite trans, a 3:23 posi and Flowmaster exhaust system.
The car was running mid-13s, until the block began to crack from the core plug, not enough meat to stitch it, so that's another engine, then.
On a positive note, Carl doesn't need an engine hoist.
