Timmy Watts
Mustang GT
Tim came into American Super Stock as a rookie, kind of surprising, for the only American racer the series has seen (so far that is). Swore blind he'd never drag raced before, but went on to be the series Champion for 2006.
Then, unfortunately for us, work took Timmy away. But he continues with the drag racing.
"My tow truck is a '95 GMC ½ ton regular cab with a 6.5 liter diesel. It has 115,000 miles on it and was a Virginia Dept of Transportation truck. It is rated up to 10,000 pounds for towing and it gets 22 MPG. It cost me $2500.00."
"The trailer is a 1993 Metalfab custom trailer with removable fenders, tuck under ramps and a tire rack. It was build to haul a Porsche to the track. It cost me $1500.00."
Fine. That's all well and good; but tell us about the car Timmy!
"My drag car is a 2005 Mustang GT 4.6 liter Procharged with 10 PSI of boost and a built stroked short block. It delivers around 500 rear wheel hp. I have been running 11.5s (because I have no rollbar), but tonight I ran a 11.3."
"It cost me so much that I did not have any money to buy a better truck and trailer!"
Unfortunately, we recently received news that Tim has lost most of his garage to a fire. We wish him well and hope everything comes back together real soon for him.
